At Salty Acres we believe that everyone can grow food in any space they have. We know that not everyone lives in the country with acres of land, and that it’s not always an option to dig up the yard and grow plants traditionally. We understand that you may be an experienced grower trying to grow enough to feed your family and sell at your local farmer’s market, or you may just want to learn how to grow for the satisfaction of saying you did it! Our goal is to share different ways that you can accomplish whatever your growing needs are, while learning right alongside you!

The Faces of Salty Acres
Hi friends! If you found us from the videos on our other platforms, you may already be pretty familiar with at least one of the faces behind Salty Acres, but if you’re new here, we’re so happy to meet you!
Salty Acres is a small, family operation located in North Carolina, created from a desire to grow berries for our children which quickly turned into a passion to help others.
Collin is truly the face and green-thumb of Salty Acres. Every plant that is grown here, is grown by him. When you watch any of our videos, it’s going to be his face you see! Even though he is a small-town, North Carolina native, he always says he never saw himself doing anything like this…and he never even had anything to do with planting until after 2020. It’s his excitement for growing that is the driving force here! His regular 9-5 is behind a desk at a bank, so he really has learned right alongside you!
Amanda, Collin’s wife, tries to stay behind the scenes as much as possible, so you will only occasionally see her make a guest appearance! Her thumb is so black, we promise she will never touch any of your plants…all of the plants inside our house are fake, and the ones she buys for the front porch are definitely not living their best life. You would think as a nurse she could keep a little plant alive…but she can’t. Outside of being a nurse, she helps book magical Disney vacations (travel page coming soon!) and she usually holds the camera, keeps children out of the way, buys things because they’re pretty (like our chickens), and creates things like our egg cartons and doormats for fun.
Other guest appearances are made by our children, Briston, Owen, and Isla Rose (who happens to be the berry eater that got Collin started!). They keep things interesting, and help us eat everything we grow while learning along the way!
We’re so thankful we get to share our world with you while becoming a part of yours!
